The Royal Academy of Dance’s Philip Richardson Library, based in Battersea, London, houses an extensive collection of ballet and dance related materials. We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Librarian to join the Library and Archives team.
£20,000 - £23,000 pa
Permanent 34.5 hours per week
Reporting to the Library and Research Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing support in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the department, which includes archives and special collections, with specific responsibility for serials management and cataloguing.
This is a superb opportunity for someone with practical experience of working in a specialist or academic library as well as strong cataloguing skills.
Excellent IT skills, together with all round first class communication skills in English will be needed as you will be the central point of contact with internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to work within a team, use initiative, take decisions within guidelines and willingness to learn will be required.
Basic knowledge of UK copyright law, along with the ability to identify, research and analyse relevant information would be an advantage, but not essential.
Appointment to this post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
